Identifying and supporting children with developmental delays
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, nearly one in every 10 children in low-resource and rural areas is at risk of developing lifelong disabilities due to undiagnosed developmental delays and lack of early intervention services. Most of these cases are preventable with timely screening, therapy, and parental support.
Early intervention during the first 1,000 days of life can significantly reduce the severity of disabilities and improve a child’s overall development.
We are in the process of establishing a Community Early Intervention (CEI) Centre at Ramchandrapura village, Gauribidanur Taluk, Chikkaballapur district. This center aims to support 50+ children with special needs annually, offering therapeutic and special education services to prepare them for mainstream schooling.
A key component of the CEI model is the capacity building of ASHA and Anganwadi workers. Through advanced training, they are empowered to identify early developmental delays and notify our certified experts for timely assessment and intervention planning for both the child and mother.
Our goal is to minimize future complications by promoting early, inclusive, and holistic care within the community.
"Unleashing Dreams, Abilities & Aspirations Naturally"
As per the 2011 Census and NSSO reports, only less than 25% of persons with disabilities in rural India are employed. The lack of skill training, stigma, and accessibility severely limits their opportunities for self-reliance.
According to NFHS-5 (National Family Health Survey), 1 in 3 rural women s domestic violence. In many communities, mothers are wrongly blamed for a child’s disability or developmental delay, leading to emotional trauma and social isolation.
At Gungun Foundation, we believe that sustainability, dignity, and opportunity go hand in hand. That belief shapes our dream project—Project UDAAN—a disabled-friendly vocational training and entrepreneurship hub being developed at Ramchandrapura village, Gauribidanur Taluk, Chikkaballapur district.
This unique initiative aims to empower persons with disabilities and women through hands-on vocational production training, enabling them to create magic with their skills while building sustainable livelihoods.
We are committed to creating a space of dignity and innovation, where every individual, regardless of ability or background, becomes a changemaker in their own right.
We are looking for kind-hearted individuals, CSR partners, and changemakers like you to join hands with us. Your support will help us train future entrepreneurs, build a sustainable ecosystem, and create real impact at the grassroots level.
Bringing Community Health Closer to Home
Nearly 65% of India’s population lives in rural areas, yet only 33% of healthcare professionals serve these communities. Many rural families must travel 30–50 kilometers or more to access even basic medical services. This leads to delayed treatment, worsening of preventable illnesses, and increased maternal and child health risks.
According to the Rural Health Statistics Report 2021–22, India s a shortfall of over 79% specialists at rural Community Health Centres (CHCs).
Gauribidanur is witnessing a rapid socio-economic shift with over 1,500 new industries projected under the Karnataka Industrial Area Development initiative. This industrial boom has attracted a growing number of migrant laborers, many of whom lack access to even basic healthcare services.
Coupled with the geographical distance from Bangalore and the absence of regular medical infrastructure, the local population—especially women, children, and persons with disabilities—is often left vulnerable without timely medical attention.
Project Aarogyam is more than a health camp—it's a community-powered initiative that empowers people with the right tools, timely care, and dignity in health access.
We invite individuals, health professionals, CSR partners, and institutions to collaborate with us in scaling this transformative model for rural health.
Plant Today. Prevent Floods Tomorrow.
Rapid construction, clogged drains, shrinking lakes, and loss of trees have led to waterlogging and frequent urban floods.
At Gungun Foundation, we believe nature can heal the damage we’ve caused—but only if we act now. If we continue to neglect the environment, we put our children’s future at serious risk. Tree plantation is just the beginning—nurturing the saplings until they grow is the real commitment.
Our Green Mission is more than planting. We work with schools and colleges to raise environmental awareness and encourage every participant to adopt a plant and care for it until it becomes a tree.
This is the time to act—not tomorrow, but today. Let’s grow trees. Let’s grow responsibility.
Empowering Voices. Enabling Rights.
In 2016, the Government of India passed the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, a landmark law that recognizes the full range of rights for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
The Act aligns with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and guarantees:
Despite legal protection, many PwDs in India are still denied their basic rights due to a lack of awareness, social stigma, and poor policy enforcement.
Attend our workshops and awareness camps, help a person with disability access their rights, or advocate for inclusion in your school, college, or workplace.
Together, we can create a more inclusive, healthy, and sustainable future
