Co-founders Juli and Shubhajit Bhattacharya have poured their hearts, time, and resources into growing this organization to where it is today. Our Commitment to Disability Inclusion
Gungun Foundation was born out of the realization of a significant gap in society—a gap where individuals with disabilities are often seen through the lens of dependence and sympathy. Co-founder Shubhajit Bhattacharya envisions a future where these individuals are celebrated as leaders, decision-makers, and contributors to society. We aim to challenge the stereotype of "You can't do this" and replace it with opportunities for empowerment. A Wheelchair, A Smile, A New Beginning
In the quiet village of Gowribidanur, 36-year-old Anand sat silently, watching his children play in the distance. He longed to join them, but after losing both legs in a fall, what began as a simple wound turned into a life-altering disability due to lack of timely medical care.
On learning about his need, Senior Volunteer Ramaswamy led the GunGun Foundation team to Karunashraya, where we secured a new wheelchair for Anand. We also provided a walker to an elderly woman from the same village. When we arrived at their doorstep and handed over the mobility aids, emotions overflowed.
Anand looked up with quiet gratitude and said, “Now I can go out and feel the world again.” He dreams of customizing a two-wheeler so he can earn a livelihood and support his family. We’ve assured him of our continued support as he rebuilds his life with dignity and purpose.
